“I tried Five-Element acupuncture to help with my prolonged stress, and this is what happened.” - Dawn’s Story.

Out of balance

Dawn was experiencing a wide range of problems when she came to me; digestive problems, gum disease, psoriasis and emotional issues from a bereavement.

“I was a little apprehensive about choosing acupuncture before I began my treatment. This was partly due to my not being very fond of needles (or any therapies that I consider ‘invasive’) and some doubts about whether my particular long-standing problems could be helped. But a friend with knowledge of acupuncture suggested that Five-Element acupuncture might help me. I liked the website information and the openness and honesty of Mandy’s approach when I read her profile on her website”

From out of balance to balance and harmony

Dawn began her acupuncture journey with an initial diagnosis/treatment session in June 2022 and reports that the effects were very quick, Dawn then booked two acupuncture packages (6 treatments in total) and reported that on most of those sessions she noticed an uplift in her energy.

“After one session I felt incredibly relaxed to the point of being tempted to go and lie down and sleep on a grassy bank that I saw as I left the treatment room. In between sessions, I noticed I was feeling more positive, starting to sleep longer, and generally feeling better.”

Although Dawn was having other holistic treatments concurrently (homeopathy) so it is not possible to tell which therapy was having the greatest beneficial effect, she told me after four sessions her gums had stopped bleeding, she was sleeping better, and her digestion had improved. Two weeks after that, I could see more evidence that her body was more aligned and free-flowing because she also reported that she had gained some weight. Her GP had raised concerns about this.

Mandy’s approach

“Five element acupuncture is very gentle. Any pain involved is minimal and momentary – not anything to be concerned about for anyone. I would be happy to recommend Mandy’s treatments, during the sessions she made sure I really felt listened to. Mandy is sensitive and perceptive, she gave me space to explore and validate how I was feeling. She put a lot of care and time into checking pulses and asking for feedback as to the effects of the treatments.”

Thrive

‘Overall I felt my sessions had a very positive effect on my well-being and confidence at a difficult time in my life. I was very happy with the outcome and I looked forward to the sessions’.
