“To anyone considering the mindfulness programme, my advice is simple: just do it!” - Linda’s story

Introduction:
When I first started on Mandy’s mindfulness 8-week programme, I had high hopes of kick-starting a regular mindfulness and meditation practice. As someone who constantly packed too much into their life, I knew the importance of prioritising my health. I was seeking guidance and support to embed mindfulness into my daily routine, and this course seemed like the perfect opportunity.

Prior Experience and Expectations:
Before starting the programme, I already had some experience with mindfulness and meditation. From practising yoga as a teenager (with a 1970s Richard Hittleman book in my bedroom) to attending mindfulness courses in the past (Mary Pearson and Claire Branigan), I had a foundation to build on. However, as life got busier after starting a family, my self-care took a backseat. I was eager to reclaim that part of my life and knew that this course could provide the necessary tools and guidance.

Managing and Reducing Stress Levels:
The mindfulness practices taught in the programme proved to be invaluable in managing and reducing my stress levels. I learned to take moments throughout the day to observe what was happening in my body and mind, allowing me to let go of excessive adrenaline and find a sense of calm. These regular resets helped me become less reactive and more methodical, resulting in a more harmonious life.

“Mandy's emphasis on approaching mindfulness with a beginner's mind resonated with me, leading to constant realisations and "aha" moments.”

Standout Moments and Practices:
One of the highlights of the programme was the guided meditations led by Mandy. Her soothing voice created a serene environment for practice, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the experience. Additionally, Mandy's emphasis on approaching mindfulness with a beginner's mind resonated with me, leading to constant realisations and "aha" moments.

Unexpected Benefits and Outcomes:
Engaging in this mindfulness programme brought unexpected benefits and outcomes. Mandy's dedicated and non-judgmental approach helped me realise the importance of self-care and how to prioritise it in my life. I had a breakthrough moment when I accepted that my routine was "there is no routine," allowing me to practice mindfulness whenever and wherever I could. The major benefit of my time with Mandy was the establishment of a daily practice, which has the potential to lengthen and improve my life.

Motivation and Support:
Throughout the 8 weeks, Mandy provided unwavering support and encouragement. She celebrated every bit of progress, no matter how small, and helped break down barriers to practice. By understanding the challenges we faced and taking our practicalities into account, she empowered us to find ways of incorporating mindfulness into our lives. Her guidance and strategies were instrumental in helping me stay motivated and committed to the programme.

Continuing the Mindfulness Journey:
Now that I have completed the programme, I am committed to continuing my mindfulness practice. The transformation I have experienced in just 8 weeks has convinced me of its profound impact on my well-being and effectiveness.

Final Thoughts and Advice:
To anyone considering the mindfulness programme, my advice is simple: just do it!
